Mrs. Kathryn Hope Wilkerson

On Saturday, February 19, 2022, Kathryn “Kathy” Hope Wilkerson of Lutherville peacefully left this world after 80 years of life, love and laughter, and is now beautifully reunited with her deceased husband of 59 years, Wilkie. Kathy was the beloved mother of her two daughters and a son, and their spouses: Hope and John Pezzulla; Wendy and Buzzy Thomas; and Russell and Colleen Wilkerson. She was a special “Granny” to eight grandchildren: Zach Thomas, Abbey Thomas Manley (her husband Drew), and Annie Thomas (fiance’ Blane Boeri); Jack Pezzulla; Whitney, Reed, Campbell, and Walker Wilkerson; and two great grandchildren Wes and Mason Manley. And she was a cherished sister to Debbie Peterson and her husband Pete, with nephews Billy (Andrea) and Scott (Sara); and great niece Maddie. Kathy was born in Baltimore on July 4, 1941 to Stanley and Kathryn Hope. She graduated from Notre Dame Preparatory School (’59) and attended Mt. Saint Agnes College and the University of Maryland’s School of Nursing. She was an accomplished swimmer; singer and dancer; an avid card and tennis player; and a sometimes entrepreneur, launching a left-handed accessories business. She was a volunteer at GBMC hospital, the Red Cross, and the Ruxton Ridge School. She also adored her pet dogs: Cinnamon, Bear, Cinder, and Groovy; and felines K.C., Tarheel and Callie. What Kathy loved most in life was her family: husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. From sports games to school activities, and from the sidelines to the receiving lines, she was a dedicated fan, always putting her family first. She was ever-present with a warm smile, a firm hug, and an uplifting laugh. She made every occasion a happier one. We love and miss you Mom! A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Nativity in Timonium, Maryland on Tuesday, March 1 at 1:00 PM. Mass will also be live streamed. Interment at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens with a graveside farewell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Animal Rescue Inc.
