Peacefully, on Sunday morning, February 21, 2021, Sister Mary Ellen Dougherty, SSND, beloved member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, dear daughter of the late C. Rosella Finan and Thomas Dougherty. She is survived by her sister-in-law Clara Dougherty, niece Kim Klass, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 10:30 AM, in Villa Maria Cemetery, Glen Arm, MD. A Memorial Mass to celebrate the life of Sister Mary Ellen will take place at a later date. Contributions in memory of Sister Mary Ellen may be made to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 6401 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21212.
