On April 28, 2022, M. Alice Meade Carter, beloved wife of Darryl Carter, M.D.; dear mother of Michael D. Carter (Kathryn Honan-Carter), Margaret M. Carter (Francis Kim), Rebecca A. Carter and Jeffrey C. Carter (Amanda); dear grandmother of Greta, Caroline and Jasper; devoted sister of Hugh A. Meade Jr., Charles P. Meade and the late Mary Isabel Laroque, James A. Meade and John M. Meade; devoted sister-in-law of Virginia Gilbert Meade, Rosemary McCormick Meade, Lynda Engel Meade, Anne Wells Meade and the late Jerome Laroque. Charles St. Baltimore, MD 21210 or www.ndp.edu/alums/giving. **************************************************************** Passed away at age 85 on April 28, 2022 of natural causes, Margaret (Alice) Meade Carter, Alice to her family and friends, was the beloved wife of Dr. Darryl Carter; devoted mother of Michael and his wife Kate; daughter Margaret and her husband Francis; daughter Rebecca; and son Jeffrey and his wife Amanda; loving grandmother of Greta, Caroline and Jasper; dear sister of Hugh Meade and Charles Meade; and the late Mary Isabel Laroque, James Meade and John Meade. Born December 16,1936 in Baltimore, MD, Alice was a graduate of Notre Dame Prep in 1954 and of Notre Dame University of Maryland in 1958. She was an excellent tennis and badminton player, a Biochemistry assistant at Johns Hopkins and the National Institutes of Health, and a talented painter. She devoted her life to her family; including her husband of 61 years, her 4 children and 3 grandchildren. She was a loving Aunt to her many nieces and nephews, and loving cousin in a grand family. Alice was blessed with many wonderful close friends from childhood and her days as a student at Notre Dame. She easily made many more friends in her hometowns of Baltimore and Madison, Connecticut where she raised her family for 26 years, New York city and any other place she visited. She enjoyed sharing summers with family and friends in Bethany Beach, Delaware. She loved to travel, sit on the beach in Delaware, play Sudoku, eat Maryland crabs when they were in season, and followed Baseball, basketball, especially the UCONN Huskie women’s basketball team, and, of course, the Baltimore Colts.
