Margaret Eileen Flynn

On September 10, 2026, Margaret Eileen (Peggy) Flynn, 77, passed away peacefully at Stella Maris Nursing Home, Timonium, MD. She was the beloved daughter of the late Vincent J. and Norma Beall Flynn. She was predeceased by her grandparents, John T. and Eileen Gary Flynn and Alonzo and Margaret Bauer Beall, and her brother-in-law, Timothy Weglicki. She is survived by her brother, Vincent J. Flynn, Jr. (Kit), and her sister, Mary Denise Flynn Weglicki. She was a loving aunt to her nephew, Michael Flynn (Karen), and her nieces, Sharon Quinto (Terence); Elizabeth Homans (Patrick), and Anne Mason (Taylor). She is also survived by four grand-nephews and two grand-nieces. Peggy was born with cerebral palsy. During the 1950s, educational opportunities were limited for children with disabilities. Her family relocated from Catonsville to Towson so that Peggy could attend the Ridge School in Ruxton, graduating at age 18. Outside of school, she participated in Special Olympics; social events with other disabled adults; swimming at the Towson YMCA, and attending Camp Glow, a summer camp run by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. After Peggy finished school, she worked with job coaches at the ARC of Baltimore to find employment. Peggy was a very dedicated worker and loved going to her jobs. Two of her favorite jobs were dusting the videos at a Blockbuster store and working at the Hunt Valley Marriott putting towels and toiletries in the guest rooms. Peggy lived in her family home until she was 50, when she moved to a group home run by Gallagher Services. Peggy loved living in the group home with her housemates. She received exceptional love and care from her counselors and her group home supervisor. We are especially grateful to Connie Brindle and Donna Bosley for their kindness to Peggy during this time. After Peggy retired, she attended an activity center that was run by Gallagher Services; participated in Loyola College’s “Best Buddies” program, and was part of a team that helped deliver Meals on Wheels. On Sundays, she loved rooting for the Ravens with her brother-in-law, Tim. Peggy has been a resident of Stella Maris since 2022, after a fall that confined her to a wheelchair. She enjoyed visiting with the other residents and participating in group activities. We are grateful to her caretakers in the Knott Wing for their compassionate care. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11 am in the Stella Maris Chapel.
