Mary Gail Milne

Mary Gail Moran Milne, age 81, passed away on January 6, 2026. Born in Hollywood, California. The family moved to Old Lyme, Connecticut in 1953, which she always considered her home, then in 1959 moved to Baltimore where she spent most of her life. Gail earned her bachelor's degree in government and public administration from American University in 1967. Her first position in government service was working on the rewrite of the Constitution for the State of Maryland. She went on to spend the rest of her career working for governors of Rhode Island and Pennsylvania, and numerous Maryland governors working in the areas of Health, Education and various state transportation administrations. She cherished her friendships and held them close, just as her friends held her dear in return. A devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles and later the Ravens, she brought that same passion to her work, her church, and her family. Reading a multitude of books, both fiction and non-fiction, introduced her and enticed her to a world of travel, with emphasis on Great Britian, which she did throughout her life. She is survived by her devoted brother Fred and his wife Cathi, her friend and former husband Neville, stepson Arryn (Eliza), and grandsons Asher and Fynn. She has a large group of devoted friends that she gathered throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Baltimore Friends School (Robert A. Nichols Endowed Scholarship), Franciscan Center of Baltimore, and Emmanuel Episcopal Church. EVENTS ON SATURDAY, APRIL 18th The day will start with a private Interment. The Celebration of Life will begin at 11:30am at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 811 Cathedral St. Baltimore, Md 21201. All those attending the Celebration of Life are cordially invited to attend a reception immediately afterwards at the Baltimore Country Club, 4712 Club Rd, Baltimore, Md, 21210 Note:The celebration of life will be streamed on the church's YouTube website: http://www.youtube.com/@emmanueldowntown. NOTE: Parking at Emmanuel Episcopal is limited. If you want to carpool, we have made arrangements with Baltimore Country Club for our guests to park in their parking lot. If you will be attending the Interment, we might suggest that you park at BCC for the day.
